If you would prefer a leisurely stroll across the Eastport Bridge, dining and shopping is easily within walking distance from our marina. New starting in 2009, we have new shower and bathroom facilities for your on-shore use. Once you have left Annapolis, the Chesapeake Bay offers a wonderful place to vacation or weekend getaway. With the premiere fleet on the Chesapeake Bay, we can assure you an absolutely exciting cruise here on the bay. Experience an alternative to typical vacations. We offer captains if client’s need.
The Chesapeake is a gentle, body of water surrounded by lovely creeks and coves populated by friendly, water oriented residents. Chesapeake literally means “drowned river” which native Indians named for the valley glaciers carved out. We welcome you to our world!

The Chesapeake Bay waters are generally brackish varying from very salty near the mouth of the Bay to almost fresh at the northern end. The best swimming is often north of the Bay Bridge during July and August as sea nettles sometimes take up residence in the lower bay during those months.

The sailing is easy. There is virtually no fog and navigation is line of sight. The tide range is only about 1.5 ft. and the tidal current in the middle of the bay averages less than 1/2 knot. Summer winds are somewhat light averaging about 8-12 knots. Spring and fall sailing are a little brisker and with the warm waters during the fall months, sailing is very comfortable through October.

The Chesapeake Bay offers great access to boats drawing under 7' of water but offers plenty of sailing for our shoal keel sailboats, catamarans and powerboats. The bottom, although you won’t find out, is soft and forgiving. There is over 5,000 miles of navigable shoreline! (It's been said that a person 20 years old could cruise and anchor in a different place each night for the rest of their life!) The ingredients of the Chesapeake make cruising the bay delightful.

Did you know that the Chesapeake has one of the longest coastlines in America?

Most Coastline?
But, Chesapeake is the most cruiser friendly, interesting with lots of places to visit. Whether you want a quiet cove or a party, the Chesapeake can accomodate you!
